What Happened to Posh?

Walk past Posh last night - no cars parked outside, a couple of people were sitting outside (could of been staff). What happened? Where was everyone. Was entertainment banned from outside - like everyother venue?

If i remember rightly this hapened a while back when posh advertized on a sunday night and it was closed.

Just glad i never paid 60 euros for membership - just not worth it when you can go to other places free

I think I am correct in saying that was their Karaoke night, they first got rid of Maxine it seems then the Tinsel guy. So seems to not be able to cope with the pull of Hillside, after all Tommy has been doing it a long time now.

We were there Saturday evening, sat outside with friends, listening & dancing to a fantastic duo Sunflower Valley, we had a superb steak meal and drinks at excellent prices and the place was packed.

well it wasnt pack last night linda. I think it very bad when an estabishment doesnt let there customers know when an evening will be canceled.

oh i didnt know theyd sacked that Tinsel bloke as well. Certainly getting through the artists at that place
The meals and drinks arent really that cheap - after all people have already coughed up 60 euros each to be a member and then if a member takes a nonmember they have to pay 3 euros to get in, so add that on to your food NO cheaper than any other places up hear.

I thought ALL the places had to abide by the "new rules" i.e. no music etc outside or with amps etc or is that just for those in the consum area ?

We had a great evening there with friends too, and we sat outside there Thursday afternoon too, perhaps the owners made sure all their licences and paperwork were in place before it opened.

We live very near POSH Club, and the evenings we are not there we sit outside and listen to the music, as do most of our neighbours and no-one has complained.

Also, we were there the other Wednesday for the quiz with Terry Tinsel.

I have a good idea, why dont SlytheGuy & Spanish Connections pop in and ask the owners at POSH and get the answers from the horses mouth instead of spreading rumours

FOX160,
What a nice person you must be. And your language is so nice and polite. You could almost be religious just by reading your text.

FOX160,
Good comment you made, admittedly a bit basic, also a bit short of fact, I have looked but still cannot find the bit on a comment by sly the guy, when he allegedly said that .' The Tinsel guy had got the sack' I think what he wrote was started as 'I didn't know' ,It's what is called selective copy (don't print what is said, only what you want people to read. Also why bring the fact that Hillside was shut on Saturday ,That seemed a bit odd

Im sick to death of people commenting about things they know nothing about, opening licences, we have paid a fortune and been trying for months, another bar close is going through the same. One bar told me the other day they had been waiting for five years and still havnt got one. We have jumped through bloody hoops and there is always something else. Stick to commenting about things you know about.

Good point busy bodies sticking there nose in , maybe as you know what it is like to apply for a opening licence you could post on here what the licence allows ie food, drinks entertainment etc does it have any restrictions to comply with, that way if you post the info as per the application it should clear the matter up for all those that feel they need to stick there nose in and then there will be defined lines = no more moaners etc and the urb etc can get on with what it offers for all to enjoy ( even the moaners ) as they will know where they stand !!

To be honest im not sure of all the rules, we employed an Architect and even she got it wrong. Now we have to remove the roof from the restaurant and so do next door. As far as I understand the rules differ if you are classed as a Bar, Restaurant etc with opening hours and what you can serve as far as food etc. BUT these rules seem to change all the time.

I would hope you only paid her for what she got and did right and all the wrong parts were taken off the invoice and not paid for at least that way you can control some of your costs on trading in this hard time, any more info you can post will keep the those that only go on tittle tattle better informed to spread fact than fantasy.

Never one to act on rumour I went to the quiz night at POSH club on Wednesday and confirmed that it was indeed the same Terry Tinsel who was quizmaster. He had been to England for four days which does not constitute being sacked as I checked with the owners. We are booked for Sunday lunch followed by Karaoke at 3.30pm this Sunday as we were last Sunday.

Why are people trying to undermine this fantastic enterprise with rumours and downright lies?
